Pottery Barn

Pottery Barn has licensed the digital copy of my mixed media painting in my Loss series, "Brightness, Boundaries and Time" and is selling it as a print with the title of Red Textile Framed Print. It’s framed and comes in three sizes, 18”, 24” and 36” square. I have a relationship with an art licensing company that initiated it. Thank you to them, and also to Pottery Barn!

New Licensed Artwork

Yesterday I sent nine new fabric paintings and one that's a few years old, to the company that licenses my work so they can photograph them to add to my portfolio for a total of 62 images that are available. I am very excited because the nine new paintings are from my Loss series, which I started in early 2021, a little while after my mother died.

This new work is a combination of repurposed embroideries from my mother's house or eBay or that have been gifted to me. The stories behind the work are very personal. I did not make them to exhibit necessarily or to be licensed, but I am very glad others are interested in them.

Licensed Art

Pottery Barn has licensed the image of The Fence As Lace #4 and is selling it under the name of Lace Framed Textile. This piece has been licensed before by Anne Selke but this time, Pottery Barn had it as a Giclee on raw canvas, not paper, which is how it was made for Anne Selke.

I created the original in 2011 when I was at a residency at the Vermont Studio Center. It measures 113” x 49" monoprint on a white cotton sheeting fabric. The image at Pottery Barn without the frame is 43" x 19".

I am so glad this image has had a life of its own in addition to the original which is rolled up on a tube in my studio. It's good to get my work out there, with or without my name attached to it.

Finally Hung: Seasonal Fence Print that Crate & Barrel licensed

Over the last few weeks, we have been updating an extra room in our house. Since we moved in in 1988, this room has been used as our son's bedroom, my husband's office, my mother-in-law's bedroom during the Covid lockdown, and now it's our guest room.

When we moved in, I painted over the wall paper because the beaver board walls from 1935 have at least three layers and it was too labor intensive and we didn't have the time to remove them.

A few weeks ago I cleaned up the walls the best I could, given the circumstances, filled in the holes and cracks, and painted the walls and ceiling the same white.

Then the redecorating and bonding project of hanging of artwork and prints happened. This included the hanging of the licensed print of Seasonal Fence Print that Crate & Barrel sold as a framed giclee print that measures 30"W x 0.75"D x 60"H. Until now, we didn't have wall space to hang it.

In 2013, Crate & Barrel licensed the image of my painting Seasonal Fences - Spring #3, which is one piece I created in a series of 20 and named it Seasonal Fence Print. I bought the print on sale as a remainder when they discontinued selling it quite a few years ago.

As a painting, the actual Seasonal Fences - Spring #3 is mixed media on board, and it measures 22" x 10" x 1".

Stragically below the print is a sliver of wall paper that I did not paint over. It's an archive of the changes the room had with previous owners. Hopefully when we move someday, the new owners will appreciate it.

Seasonal Fences - Spring #3 Print

A number of years ago, Crate & Barrel licensed the image of my painting Seasonal Fences - Spring #3 and sold signed giclee prints that measured 60" x 30" framed. The original painting is mixed media on 10" x 22" x 1" cradled board.

A few months ago, I was contacted by someone who wanted to buy a print now that Crate & Barrel isn't selling it anymore. I have the digital imaged that was used, so I was able to get a print made and sent directly to her, with the understanding that she would have to frame it herself.

Above is the print that she purchased directly from me. Her choice of frame is similar to Crate & Barrel's frame as per the print below that was purchased from Crate & Barrel by someone else.

Seasonal Fences - Spring #3 print

One of the nice things about having friends who live or travel all over the US and world is hearing from them that they saw my artwork in places I probably wouldn't know about.

Here is the print of Seasonal Fences - Spring #3 that Crate & Barrel licensed and sold for a number of years, hanging at Wright's Station Vineyard & Winery in Los Gatos, California.

Thank you to my friend who not only set me this picture, but also told them about me and my work.

It's fun seeing my licensed prints on AnnieSelke.com and in their email marketing. It makes me happy to see my work out in the world for others to see.

Licensed Prints on Annie Selke

Check out licensed prints of my art on AnnieSelke.com.

Previously Crate & Barrel and Tuesday Morning have licensed my work. The Crate & Barrel arrangement was especially exciting for me because I could go to the store and see the print, as could friends and family all over the US.

It's nice to have my work licensed again, and I hope it does well. Many thanks to Annie Selke!

Licensed Image!

I have been working with a company who has been licensing the images of many pieces of my artwork for a number of years. They print the images to order for retail and hospitality companies, and I receive royalties for each print. Two retail orders over the years are Crate & Barrel and also Tuesday Morning.

Today I found out that an order of 113 Ground Through the Fence #1 prints were recently sold to a hospitality property in the Orlando area. To whoever that property it is, I would like to say thank you!

On TV and at Crate & Barrel

Almost a year later, I finally have been able to get a good screen grab of my Crate & Barrel print on Property Brothers. It was shown on the "Chris and Mike" episode on HGTV early in 2014. This picture was at the 38:53 mark in the broadcast.

The signed giclee (licensed) print of my painting is 60" x 30" framed. It's been available at Crate & Barrel since August 2013.

The original painting, Seasonal Fences - Spring #3, is mixed media on 22" x 10" x 1" cradled board, created in 2011.

Next up for the print's screen time is The Good Wife. I'm not sure when, but soon I hope. Since I haven't started watching the series yet, I hope someone will let me know when they see it.

New Home

Fence Detail #21, one of my favorite pieces, was welcomed into a new home on Christmas Day.

Fence Detail #21 is mixed media on 6" x 6" x .75" cradled board. It was created as an experiment before I made my 20-part Seasonal Fences series, which are mixed media paintings on 22" x 10" x 1" cradled board. Seasonal Fences - Spring #3, was later licensed and sold as signed and framed prints at Crate & Barrel.

Thank you to the family member who purchased Fence Detail #21 as a gift, and also again to Crate & Barrel!

Better than the joy of my creating art, is the joy I feel when people bring my art into their home (or office) so they can enjoy it day after day! Thank you for that!

New Home for Prints

It's not often I get to see my work hanging in someone's home, but I was lucky enough to receive these two photos.

Above is a print on canvas of my painting, Ground Through the Fences #1, which was purchased thanks to Saatchi Art, an online art gallery.

The original painting is mixed media on 18" x 18" x 1.5" cradled board. Prints at Saatchi measure 14" or 16" square, depending on whether it's on paper or canvas.

And here is the print of Seasonal Fences - Spring #3, which was purchased at Crate & Barrel. The original painting is mixed media on 22" x 10" x 1" cradled board. The signed giclee print at Crate & Barrel measures 60" x 30" framed.

The owner of this home contacted me about work that would compliment the print at Crate & Barrel. I gave her the link to prints of my work on Saatchi, which worked out well for both of us.

More About My Print on Property Brothers

I was excited to see this post on the Property Brothers Facebook page this morning:

"Take a look back at some of the most popular makeovers from HGTV's Property Brothers," which led me to a photo of the dining room that had my print hanging on the wall. I was disappointed that it only caught the righthand side of it.

Below is a picture I took when the show was on TV one night, hence the warped view. It's hard to take pictures on a TV. I hope that some day I can get a good picture of it from the show.

The print has been available at Crate & Barrel's website, catalog, and in stores since last August.

If you want to see it on Property Brothers, it's the Chris & Mike Episode HPBRS-606H. The upcoming schedule on the HGTV website.

The print has been available at Crate & Barrel's website, catalog, and in stores since last August.

As a painting, Seasonal Fences - Spring #3 is mixed media on board that measures 22" x 10" x 1".
