New Work: Water Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them 2

New work: the second in my Water Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them series incorporating photos of water covers on the street in my neighborhood and the sealed crack lines around them.

Similar to gas covers, water covers are very small compared to sewer covers, the inspiration behind of a number of other paintings. The sealing of cracks around them dwarves their presence and one barely notices them.

The paintings include acrylic skins of the photographs collaged on monoprinted construction fence fabric, and painting, on 6” x 6" board.

New Work: Sewer & Water Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them

Sewer & Water Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them is a companion piece to the Sewer Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them series, both inspired from walks in my neighborhood.

Crack sealing is a technique that seals street cracks to protect the asphalt from further deteriorating. I see it as mark making and find it inspiring.

This painting incorporates acrylic coated photographs and monoprinted and stamped pieces of construction fence fabric, all collaged on 6” x 6" board.
