On Exhibit

Tiled Fence Photos #7 (above) and Tiled Fence Photos #8 (below) are on exhibit at Fountain Street Fine Art's 8x8 Annual Members' Group Show from April 23 - June 14, 2015.

Both pieces are mixed media on 8" x 8" x 1.5" cradled board, and were created in 2014. While they would normally be for sale for $325, they are $200 for this show only.

If you can't get to the gallery, which is located in Framingham, MA, all of the work is also on exhibit online. If you are interested in purchasing either my work or anyone else's, please contact the gallery directly.

New Work: Tiled Fence Photos Series 6-10

Tiled Fence Photos #6

After creating and selling Tiled Fence Photos 1 - 5 earlier this year, and selling all five of them at Fountain Street Fine Art, in Framingham, MA, I've created five new pieces in this series, Tiled Fence Photos 6 - 10. I'm also making plans to make at least two more in this series.

Tiled Fence Photos #7

The tree wrapped with fencing (above and below) was a happy surprise I saw when driving on Rt 117 in Weston, MA this past spring. I luckily was able to get pictures of the tree with and without leaves, before the fencing was removed.

Tiled Fence Photos #9

The picture above shows a construction fence that was decorated with greenery and a bow at Christmas, in Boston, a few years ago. It was so strange that I had to take a picture.

Tiled Fence Photos #10

Above is a picture of construction fencing along with a chain link fence, that was taken by a friend in Tokyo, Japan.

The Tiled Fence Photos Series is created with acrylic "skins" created from photos of orange construction fences out in their various elements. They are collaged on monoprinted textures of construction fences on fabric that is stitched, painted, and mounted on 8" x 8" x 1.5" cradled board.

On Exhibit: Tiled Fence Photos Series

Tiled Fence Photos #3 (above) and Tiled Fence Photos #5 (below) are on exhibit in the 8x8 ALL-MEMBERS' Group Show at Fountain Street Fine Art in Framingham MA through April 27, 2014. The Opening Reception is tonight from 5-9 pm.

For the show, I originally created Tiled Fence Photos #1 (above), which sold right after I posted it on social media. Someone reached out to the Gallery and purchased it.

Because of my not wanting to miss out of participating in the show, I created Tiled Fence Photos #2 (above). After I posted it on social media, someone reached out to the Gallery and purchased this one too.

And, Tiled Fence Photos #4 (above) also sold after I posted it on social media.

All of the work in the Tiled Fence Photos Series are mixed media on 8" x 8" x 1.5" cradled board
. It would be cool if the new pieces find new homes too, but one never knows what will be of interest to collectors.

Another New Home

Another piece in my latest series has sold, Tiled Fence Photos #4.

To date, I’ve created a total of five pieces in the Tiled Fence Photos Series, which focuses on photos of actual construction fences that are combined with monoprints of construction fences. I plan on adding more work to this series over the next few months.

That means that Tiled Fence Photos #3 (above) and Tiled Fence Photos #5 (below) will now be on exhibit in the 8x8 ALL-MEMBERS' Group Show at Fountain Street Fine Art in Framingham MA in April.

I originally created Tiled Fence Photos #1 for my submission to the 8x8 Show. After posting it online, it was purchased ahead of the show. Then I created Tiled Fence Photos #2 and that was also been purchased, and now Tiled Fence Photos #4 has been too.

My guess is that people like photos in my work, and also that the work in the 8x8 show is $150, not the $325 I would normally sell that size for.

All of the work in the Tiled Fence Photos Series are mixed media on 8" x 8" x 1.5" cradled board
. It would be cool if the new pieces find new homes too, but one never knows what will be of interest to collectors.

More New Work, and Another New Home

I created three new pieces in my latest series this past week weekend, Tiled Fence Photos #3Tiled Fence Photos #4 and Tiled Fence Photos #5.

The photos from Tiled Fence Photos #3, and Tiled Fence Photos #4 were taken in Jackson WY many years ago.

The Tiled Fence Photos #5 photo was taken in Boston in January.

One or more of these new pieces will be on exhibit in the 8x8 ALL-MEMBERS' Group Show at Fountain Street Fine Art in Framingham MA in April.

There are now a total of five in this series that focuses on photos of actual construction fences, that are combined with monoprints of construction fences. I plan on adding more work to this series over the next few months.

I originally created Tiled Fence Photos #1 for my submission to the show, and after posting it online, it was purchased ahead of the show. Then I created Tiled Fence Photos #2 and that has also been purchased.

All of the work in the Tiled Fence Photos Series are mixed media on 8" x 8" x 1.5" cradled board
. It would be cool if the new pieces find new homes too, but one never knows what will be of interest to collectors.

New Home, New Work, Three Variations on a Theme

In my planning ahead for 8x8 ALL-MEMBERS' Group Show, at Fountain Street Fine Art in Framingham MA in April, I created Tiled Fence Photos #1 (below). After I posted it on social media a few days ago, someone reached out to the Gallery and has agreed to purchase it.

Because of my not wanting to miss out of participating in the show, and also my having another idea for work using this same photo taken on a walk at the Boston Esplanade in December, I created Tiled Fence Photos #2 (above). This piece combines monoprinted and stitched textures of a construction fence with a tiled photo of Tiled Fence Photos #1. The detail isn’t as sharp, but I like the grid within the grid.

Tiled Fence Photos #2 will now be my submission to the 8x8 show. For the show, each artist was invited to create up to 2 pieces 8" x 8" pieces on wood panel, that will be for sale for $150. The sale price is a bit cheaper than I usually sell my work, but I do want to participate in this show.

Earlier this month, I also created 12 x 12 x 12 February 2014 (above), which measures 12" x 12", and is a much more complex piece with the same photo. Now that I’ve made three different pieces using the same photo, I guess it’s time to move on to other construction fence photos, which I am preparing to do.

Both Tiled Fence Photos #1 and TiledFence Photos #2 are mixed media on 8" x 8" x 1.5" cradled board
. I hope #2 finds a nice home too.
