New Work That's Been in Progress For A Few Months

For some reason I never posted this on my blog, only on Instagram, so here's some catch up...

I started working on this small embroidery, by monoprinting a small square construction fence pattern on it and then machine stitching the pattern with black thread in early November because I wanted to bring it with me when I went to Seattle Thanksgiving week. I did do some hand stitching of orange thread, following the grid, but not as much as I had planned.

Since I have a three day weekend this weekend, I decided to work on the hand stitching and see how far I could get.

Happily, after working on it the past three nights, I finished the hand stitching today.

I love the look of handstitching but quite honestly, I don’t enjoy doing it. It’s hard on my eyes and so slow.

Next I’ll be adding some paint in a few places and then I’ll be done.
