For a few weeks, I'll be working on two Dates in a Life Project paintings that document the number of steps I walk each day, 2023 which is almost finished as you can see on the wall on the right, and 2024 which is the violet gridded fabric on the table in the foreground. 2022 is on the wall on the left side.
The violet fabric on the table for 2024 is drying and setting. Tomorrow I will start sewing black thread following the grid before I pour watered down matt medium on it to stiffen it so it's more like paper.
I've been documenting my walking since 2016.
In two weeks I'll do the final finishing touches on 2023. When that's done, and 2024 is sewn, stiffened and dry, it'll go up on the wall and I'll probably move 2023 over where 2022 is and take that one down.
