Gas Cover and the Sealed Crack Line Around It is a companion piece to Sewer & Water Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them, and the Sewer Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them series, all inspired from walks in my neighborhood.
Crack sealing is a technique that seals street cracks to protect the asphalt from further deteriorating. I see it as mark making and find it inspiring.
This painting incorporates an acrylic skin of a gas cover photograph on a nearby street, and monoprinted construction fence fabric, all collaged on 6” x 6" board.
