New Work: Pandemic Face Masks #8

New work, Pandemic Face Mask #8, in my new series of wearable paintings. Each mask is made in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I’ve been thinking about how I’ve been home for over 4 weeks, which is how long I was home from work when after I donated my kidney in Seattle in December. Comparatively speaking, staying home after surgery was much easier than staying home for Covid-19. As I recuperated, I went out for walks, went food shopping, and I visited family. While I felt sore and fatigued, I had the freedom to move around as I could. Now I go out for walks, but there’s no visiting anyone, and food shopping is a challenge to figure out and do safely.
