What I Did on My Summer Vacation

Even though I didn't technically have a summer vacation this year, here this an example of the new paintings I worked on and finished this summer. Three of the four series incorporate photographs of ice or snow from last winter, collaged over monoprinted and painted construction fence textures.

The eleven paintings in the Skating Marks on Ice on Fences series incorporate photos of skating marks on pond ice, mounted on 12” x 9” x 1.5" boards.

The nine-piece Bubbles and Cracks on Ice on Fences series incorporate photos of cracks and bubbles in pond ice, mounted on 14" x 14" x 1" boards.

There are five paintings in the Street Ice on Fences series, which incorporate photos of ice and snow on the side of the road. They are mounted on boards that measure 24" x 18" x 1.5".

The 26 paintings in the Fragments from Ice on Fences series are created with small pieces of fabric of monoprinted and painted textures of orange construction fences from the three series mentioned above, all on 6" x 6" boards that are either .75" or .375" deep.

This work can be seen at the Artspace Maynard Open Studios in Maynard MA on September 26th and 27th, and also in an exhibit entitled All Boundaries are Imagined, Denise Driscoll and Jeanne WilliamsonFountain Street Fine Art in Framingham, MA from October 8 - November 8, 2015. Come see this new work!
