Here are the first two pieces in a new series "Slivers of Fences," which is influenced by Orange Construction Fence Series #17/36. As I discussed on February 9th, I've wanted to make more work that incorporated slivers of construction fences for many years now.
The "Slivers of Fences" series is mixed media on cradled board, and are 18" x 18" x 1.5".
My plan is to have a total of six complete before Catherine Carter and I hang our show "Walls and Webs" at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA, the second week of March.
I have finished painting two more, and I'm almost finished stitching them. Then I will mount them on the boards, and will post pictures of them here on my blog and also on my website. The first two are already on my website, as is all of the other new work I've created on boards so far this year.
