After taking a break from painting since the end of December, after months of making work for my Wordle painting show in January, my mind is full of ideas! First, I’m reworking five 18”x24” paintings on board from my Holes in Fences series created in 2010. Each painting has one color from the rainbow. (I sold the sixth one in blue, a number of years ago.) Above is a detail of the red painting with a layer of monoprinted construction fence fabric on top as I cut away the holes to reveal the painting underneath. Below is the original painting from 2010.
