Artist-in-Residence: Day 4
This is a detail of what I worked on just about all day today at my Artist-in-Residence, at the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute in the Women’s Studies Research Center, at Brandeis.
The full piece is monoprinted, handstamped and hand painted on 4' x 8' fabric. I spent 6+/- hours stamping close to 1000 ovals, and then I handpainted the centers of most of them. I'll finish it up tomorrow.
Totally obsessive work made a bit easier listening to NPR until the battery on my iPod needed recharging, then it was not at all fun.
Please note: there is no black paint used anywhere in this piece!
