Fractured Fence Repaired #2 will
be on exhibit at Community of Artists at DanforthART in Framingham, MA
from June 9 - August 4, 2013.
Each summer, DanforthART hosts two juried member
shows that feature work created by Boston-area artists. Each show is a regional
showcase, and I am honored to again be a part of the Community of Artists
show.
The Fractured Fence Repaired series explores blue construction fence
patterns on white (reminiscent of blue and white plates), that are fractured
and then repaired with gold (Kintsukuroi).
Each
piece was created with monoprinted, handstamped, and handpainted fabric, that
was cut and reassembled with small stitches. Then the fabric was stiffened to
provide a more paper-like feel and appearance, and gold was painted near the
stitched seams.
