I'm going to be one of the artists
creating work for CSArt, which is locally produced and supported art. It's similar to the CSA (Community Supported
Agriculture), a popular way for consumers to buy seasonal food directly from
local farms.
With the same buy-local spirit in mind
for the CSA, many arts organizations have started a similar endeavor to support
local art, artists and collectors. Fountain Street Fine Art, in
Framingham, MA, is starting its own CSArt to put original art made by local
artists into the hands of thirty lucky locals!
Here is how CSArt@FSFA works:
• Shares cost $360.
• ONLY 30 shares will be sold, starting
4/26/12.
• Shareholders get 6 original works of
art by 6 different artists.
Over the
summer, I will be creating the 30 small pieces mounted on boards, most likely
in the 6" x 6" range, specifically for CSArt. I can't speak for the
other artists involved, but if you bought a work that size from me
directly, it would cost $125, one third of the cost of the CSArt. For $360
you'll be getting work by six artists.
This is a
great opportunity for anyone who wants to start, or increase, their art
collection, and also support our work.
