Artist Residency -12th and last day

I'm going to post pictures of the ten pieces I created over the past two weeks at the Vermont Studio Center on my website and blog ASAP.

But, as I'm preparing to come home, here is the 10th piece I made yesterday. It still fits into the "Fence as Lace" theme of this body of work, but it is a departure from the other nine pieces.

This piece is very heavy. It's leftover strips of fabric, all layered on top of each other, each attached at the of the strip, with the dark half round shapes hanging freely. It sort of resembles the lace from old fashion bloomers. It's very textural. Even though it measures 18" x 48", and it's the smallest piece I made, I think it's probably made from a couple of yards of (stiffened) fabric.
