Animated Movies
Animated movies are not something that I go out of my way to see, but these three, for adults, are well worth viewing.
I recently saw the movie Persepolis (2007). Most of the movie, though not all, is in black, white and grey. I loved the drawing, and the positive and negative space. Highly recommended for the art, and also for the story.
Another wonderful movie is Waking Life (2001). The drawing and color is incredible. So incredible that I constantly got lost in the art, and sometimes forgot to pay attention to the story line.
And, The Triplets of Belleville (2003), is very creative, sweet and enjoyable.
If you read Entertainment Magazine, the article "Drawing Power" might be of interest. It's on page 53 of the June 20, 2008 issue.
