Today, while working on three of the five pieces of fabric that I've monoprinted so far, I've been thinking about what I am trying to say about them. I'm making wall pieces and also work that can be used in an installation, inside or out.
I came here with a mission to work big, but that's all. As I've been painting and sewing today, and planning on cutting into my work hopefully starting tomorrow, I have been thinking about how I want to make the fence patterns look more like lace.
That led me to thinking about the name of this series. I think I'm going to call it "The Fence As Lace," unless I come up with something more descriptive.
